Annual chamber dinner meeting, Feb. 22
The Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce will host its annual dinner meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at the Ocean Center. Presented by Halifax Health, the featured speaker is Lt. Col. Oliver North, a combat-decorated U.S. Marine, best-selling author, founder of a small business, inventor with three U.S. patents, a syndicated columnist and host of War Stories on Fox News Channel. The outgoing board chair Eric Peburn, Halifax Health, will highlight accomplishments from the past year and transfer the gavel to incoming chair Skip Lilly, Vision H.R. Daytona Beach Classic gymnastics competition, Feb. 24
The Daytona Beach Classic gymnastics competition hosted by USA Sports Productions, will be at the Ocean Center Feb. 24. This is a USA Gymnastics sanctioned event, women’s and Xcel Levels 1-10 competition. This event is open to the public. Competition hours are noon to 10 p.m. Saturday. Public invited to AQS QuiltWeek, Feb. 28 - March 3
The American Quilter’s Society, the largest quilting membership organization in the world, is bringing back its AQS QuiltWeek event to the Ocean Center Feb. 28 to March 3. The event is open to the public. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Advance admission (up to 30 days before the show) per day is $10.08 for members and $12.60 for the public. Two-day admission is $18 for members and $23 for the public. Multi-day admission is $23 for members and $32 for the public. At-the-door pricing (including online and less than 30 days before the competition) per day is $11 for members and $14 for the public; two-day admission is $20 for members and $25 for the public; and multi-day admission is $25 for members and $35 for the public. Hundreds of quilts will be on display with prizes awarded for quilting excellence. In addition, AQS QuiltWeek will host a series of workshops with some of the top talent in the quilt industry. They also will have an extensive Merchant Mall with local and national vendors. QuiltWeek – Daytona Beach will feature many special exhibits intended to provide inspiration and entertainment for quilters. AQS-certified quilt appraisers will be available to appraise new and antique quilts for insurance replacement or fair market values.
