The Ocean Center will be hosting numerous events in the coming weeks including:

National High School Drill Championships, May 4-6
The National High School Drill Team Championships are this weekend at the Ocean Center. The competition is open to the public and free to attend. Hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. The championships are the oldest, largest and finest drill and ceremony competition held annually, and features school-aged drill and ceremony units of all ability levels and from all of the four service branches. Oceans of Color Conference and Expo, May 8-13
The Society of Decorative Painters will host its Oceans of Color Conference and Expo at the Ocean Center May 8-13. The Oceans of Color Expo is Friday, May 11, and Saturday, May 12, and is open to the public. The expo features companies selling a variety of painting supplies and finished goods, decoupage, frames, mats, mat-cutters, stamps, stencils, colored pencils, water colors, ink pens and more. Hours of the expo are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10 per day. For more information, visit www.decorativepainters.org.

USAG Region 5 Trampoline and Tumbling, May 11-13
USA Gymnastics will host its Region 5 Trampoline and Tumbling Championships at the Ocean Center May 11-13. Region 5 includes competitors from Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. This competition is open to spectators. Admission is $10 for children and $20 for adults. For more information, visit www.region5tt.com.

Basketball star Grant Hill to speak at News-Journal's Best of Preps event, May 22
Tickets are sure to go fast for the News-Journal's Best of Volusia/Flagler Preps Awards at the Ocean Center May 22. This event celebrates and honors the accomplishments of the 2017-2018 All-Star high school student athletes. Grant Hill - a NCAA champion, seven-time NBA All-Star and sports broadcaster - is the event’s featured speaker. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the event starts at 6:30 p.m. General admission tickets, which may be purchased for $50, include dinner, the awards ceremony and presentation.
