Ocean Center receives Readers Choice award

The Ocean Center in Daytona Beach has received the Readers’ Choice award for top event facility by ConventionSouth magazine.  This is the fourth time the county-run convention center has received the award.

Meeting professionals and event planners were asked to name the convention centers, convention and visitors bureaus, conference centers, hotels, resorts and other meeting sites they believe display exemplary creativity and professionalism to groups. Nominations were received from readers throughout the year and the top picks were selected via online voting from more than 6,500 readers—the highest vote count ever recorded for the awards.

“It’s an honor to receive this award, especially because it’s from the meeting planners,” said Ocean Center Director Don Poor.  “We are very proud of our convention center and our award-winning Ovations catering. We know when meeting planners see our beautiful facility—which is just steps from the beach--for the first time, they want to bring business here. We have many planners that our sales staff have worked with for years who keep bringing business back to the Ocean Center, and I think that is a testament to the quality product and services we offer.”
