BRING A MEETING HOME
What is it? Our locals are a great resource for Volusia County and we realize it. Bring a Meeting Home is a program established to partner the local community with the Ocean Center to help bring meetings to Volusia County. Many people who live and work in our local area are members of associations or groups that meet around the country on an annual basis. We hope those people can help us bring that meeting home.
Why? Meetings and conventions held at the Ocean Center benefit the entire area. These events provide jobs, support local businesses, and improve the quality of life for you and your neighbors. If you belong to an organization that holds meetings or conventions out of town, we suggest a change of venue. Why not meet in your backyard…at the Ocean Center. It’s a world class complex in an affordable and accessible destination that people love. You won't be disappointed.
The Ocean Center team will assist your "Bring a Meeting Home" efforts by:
- Coordinating site visits with the meeting planner or decision makers, convention center and area hotels.
- Making a presentation to selection committee and/or Board of Directors.
- Contacting group corporate offices or national headquarters.
Once the event is contracted, our in-house event coordinator will assist with step-by-step planning; and, our marketing team will promote the event in news releases, newsletters and the Ocean Center website.
