Light Up Volusia
Dec. 1

The Ocean Center will host the eighth annual Light Up Volusia from 5 to 9 p.m.  Saturday, Dec. 1, on the east plaza of the convention center.  The public is invited to kick off the holiday season with this free, fun-filled holiday event.  Highlights include a live performance by country music artist Kaleb Lee, the lighting of a 50-foot holiday tree at 7:15 p.m., the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. Claus, holiday refreshments, children’s activities, holiday showcases and a gingerbread house competition.                                                 

Additional entertainment includes Linda Cole, Mike Leone, the Sunshine Mafia, a stilt walker, the Snow Sisters (Elsa and Anna), the Grinch, face painters, balloon artists, caricatures, a photo booth with souvenir pictures and more.

A community showcase will include Ace Gymnastics, Volusia County Beach Safety Ocean Rescue, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company/Mai Tai Bar, Daytona Lagoon, Joe’s Crab Shack, Peabody Auditorium, Ponce de Leon Inlet Light House, Zeno’s Boardwalk Sweet Shop, Sloppy Joe’s, Rocket Fizz, One Daytona, LandShark Bar & Grill and Sky Zone.

Florida Holiday Challenge
Dec. 7-9

JVC Tournaments will host its 2018-2019 opening season volleyball tournament Dec. 7 through 9 at the Ocean Center. Passes are available for purchase online or the day of the event at the door. An All Tournament Pass can be purchased for $18 in advance or $25 day of; a single day pass can be purchased for $10 in advance or $15 day of. Children 10 and under are admitted free of charge. Fur Ball to benefit Halifax Humane Society
Dec. 13

The ninth annual Fur Ball Gala to benefit the Halifax Humane Society will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, in the Ocean Center's ballroom. Guests will enjoy dinner, music, an auction and chocolate lounge. Tickets are $75 for general admission and $125 for VIP entry, which includes an invitation to the VIP Red Carpet Reception from 6 to 7 p.m., complimentary valet parking, plated dinner, three drink tickets and priority access to the chocolate lounge experience.
