Ocean Center gears up for busy weekend

You most likely know what the Ocean Center is, but do you know the number of events it can host? This weekend, the answer is six! With 200,000 square feet of event space and a hard-working staff, the venue is able to accommodate multiple events at one time and flip events in less than a day. This weekend’s events include three private events, as well as three open to the public. Read on to see where you want to spend your weekend. 

Ace Gymnastics 
Flip in to fun as the Ace Gymnastics Daytona Beach Bash returns Sept. 21 and 22 for its 17 year at the Ocean Center. The event is a U.S. Association of Gymnastics sanctioned women's level 1-5 and Xcel and Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Level 1-5 competition. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and 6:30 a.m. Sunday. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children 5-12, and they can be purchased at the door with cash. Competitions run through 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Kick USA International Championships
Kick USA’s International Championships, dubbed “The Battle of Daytona,” takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21. KICK USA is a nonprofit, community based organization founded in 1994 to promote the positive benefits of martial arts to youth. This tournament will include traditional and creative weapon, forms, and point and light continuous sparring. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door with cash; kid’s under 3 receive free admission. For more information, visit www.kickusa.com.

Florida Gun Shows
The Florida Gun Show takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. Attendees can enjoy an enormous array of new, used and antique firearms, ammunition, shooting supplies, knives, shooting accessories, scopes, clips, re-loading supplies, holsters, carry cases and range bags, hunting gear, concealment products and furniture, gun apparel and more. 

Concealed weapons classes will be held at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Daily tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door with cash.

All federal, state and local firearm ordinances and laws must be obeyed.
