The Ocean Center is owned and operated by Volusia County Government. Under the leadership of the Volusia County Council and George Recktenwald, the Volusia County Manger, the county oversees management of the Ocean Center.
Since opening our doors in 1985, the Ocean Center has grown into a vibrant part of Volusia County’s cultural and economic heartbeat. Over the past 40 years, we’ve generated an estimated $2 billion in economic impact and welcomed more than 3,500 events: from sports and live music to conventions, meetings and community celebrations. It’s all part of what makes the Ocean Center one of Florida’s favorite places to gather, cheer, connect and experience something unforgettable.
