Sunshine Slam set for 2021 debut at Ocean Center
Eight teams will tip off with hopes of winning it all at the 2021 Sunshine Slam basketball tournament Nov. 20 and 21 at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach.
The two-day tournament will feature eight Division 1 basketball teams from across the country, including Daytona Beach’s own Bethune-Cookman Wildcats. Other competitors are Utah, Boston College, Rhode Island, Tulsa, Air Force, Holy Cross and Bryant. Each team will play one regional home game prior to the championship rounds Nov. 20 and 21 at the Ocean Center.
“Whether you’re an avid fan of one of the teams, or just looking for a fun weekend activity, this event is great for our community” said Ocean Center Director Tim Riddle. “We’re looking forward to welcoming the many players, coaches, family members and fans to our area and hosting what is sure to be a thrilling weekend of competition.”
